The Holy Eucharist is Christ Himself, the eternal high priest of the New Covenant who, acting through the ministry of the priest, offers the Eucharistic sacrifice. And it is the same Christ, really present under the species of bread and wine, who is the offering of the Eucharistic sacrifice. The Catechism of the Catholic Church in #1410 summarises the Holy Eucharist thus: β€œIt is Christ himself, the eternal high priest of the New Covenant who, acting through the ministry of the priests, offers the Eucharistic sacrifice. and it is the same Christ, really present under the species of bread and wine, who is the offering of the Eucharistic sacrifice.”

FIRST COMMUNION 2024-25

The First Communion programme usually starts in November. A full timetable is sent via email to all parents of registered children.

Children must be 8 years of age by August 31st 2024 and above. It is very important that children attend all the sessions and also attend either of the parish Masses on Sunday. A record of attendance will be kept this year.

FIRST HOLY COMMUNION SESSIONS

HEART SPEAKS TO HEART PROGRAM

Heart Speaks to Heart is the program our parish follows for the Sacraments of Reconciliation and Communion. Your child will have been provided with a book to follow, but we all learn in different ways. To help, here are the links to the videos covering each of the sessions for the Sacrament of Reconciliation.

Later, during the course, we will help your children understand the Sacrament of Communion. Those videos may be found here:
